Since Walsall I've only played live a couple of times, both in smaller local events. James and I went to the International for the main event of their London Poker Masters Festival. It was good to see a lot of familiar faces that I hadn't seen in a while, and the club was looking better than ever....
As for the poker itself, things started out well with me managing to chop out a decent stack in the early stages. However, I ran into a couple of hands once the antes kicked in and things didn't really work out for me from there. My exit hand saw me raise aces from utg off a short stack, receiving 3 callers. The queen high flop seemed to connect well with the guy who had called with queens and that was the end of that.
Online I've put in a few sessions but (obviously) as is always the case, not nearly enough volume as I should. I had one really fun session where a couple of big pots that went my way seemed to really tilt up one opponent. He proceeded to tilt off for the next couple of hours in a way that had to be seen to be believed. That session has kicked the month of for me in earnest and I hope to press on a little bit. I'm around 10 buyins up in March at the moment. I also managed to ship a package for the NAPT Mohegan Sun on Sunday which I'll probably go to with James and JP, just as soon as we (I) have figured out just where it is. It could well be the American Thanet...
I'm writing this blog from France, where we're at a small festival near the Suiss border. I'll give that a write up next time. Until then I'll leave you with this clip sent to me today by my good friend C, from the WSOPE which has just started on Channel 4 (weds nights about half midnight I think). It captures really well the moment Praz doubles through Mercier and we all celebrate together. These are my mates....
